Former Prime Minister David Cameron has told Sky News that, whilst he is very concerned with events of today, he does not regret calling for a Referendum.
Cameron said: “I made a promise in the election to call a Referendum and I called a Referendum.”
He said he supports the Prime Minister in her efforts to have a close relationship with the EU.

In February 2016, Cameron, in fulfilment of a 2015 manifesto pledge, announced the UK would hold a referendum on leaving the EU on 23 June 2016.
Cameron’s comments come as Theresa May announced, today, that tomorrow’s crucial Brexit vote will be postponed, admitting that her deal would be rejected by a significant margin.
