ITV plc have delivered a strong performance in 2018 with online viewing up 32%, driven by mobile devices, connected TV and streaming media players.
The ITV Hub (formerly ITV Player), the online home for all of the channels’ content, continues to grow rapidly. Available on 28 platforms, it comes pre-installed on over 90% of all connected televisions sold in the UK.
Total external revenue for ITV was up 3% at £3.2 billion, for the year ending 31st December 2018. Total non-advertising revenues was up 5% at £1.97 billion.
Total revenue for ITV Studios was up 6% at £1.67 billion driven by Studios Rest of World (RoW) and Global Entertainment, offsetting the decline in ITV America which fell by 21%.
Carolyn McCall, ITV Chief Executive, said: “ITV’s operational performance across 2018 was strong despite the uncertain economic and political environment, with total external revenue up 3%, including total advertising revenues up 1%.
“We delivered great viewing figures on air and online with ITV setting a host of new records and achieving an impressive 3% growth in total viewing.”
