Manchester is registering the highest annual growth rate (7.4%), followed by Liverpool (7.2%), Birmingham (6.8%) and Leicester (6.5%)

Manchester has recorded the highest annual house price growth rate in the UK, according to the latest data from Hometrack.

Manchester property prices increased by 7.4% in the year to June 2018, living up to its ‘Northern Powerhouse’ title. The city also had the lowest level of price discounting at 2.2%.

Six cities with ‘real price’ falls

House prices fell, in real terms, across Southampton, Oxford, Belfast, London, Cambridge and Aberdeen. A fall in real terms is when growth falls below the 2.4% rate of consumer price inflation.
